Pannonic bee

The Pannonic bee is native in the Carpathian-basin. It is a grey, brownish or light grey bee with broad hair belts. Its hairiness on the thorax may be brownish; the chitin coat is dark. This is most excellent breed in our region regarding its fast spring development, results of collection, good spatial orientation, manageability, willingness of remaining on the comb, controllable behaviour and low level of aggressiveness. Its present distribution area includes first of all the Carpathian-basin and a significant are of Serbia, Croatia and the Ukraine. The producing apiary of KÁTKI targets the establishment of a nucleus breeding stock. In addition to that we take part in the gene conservation scheme of the breed.
